For those of you that hadn’t noticed the rise in popularity of glamorous camping (or glamping as it is usually known) you may be wondering why beautiful yurts, pods and luxury lodge tents have begun to spring up at campsites around the country.
In tough economic times, more and more people are deciding to take their holidays at home in the UK but still want a little glamour and luxury during their stay. This has led to the creation of a whole new industry, the ‘glamping’ sector, which provides luxury accommodation for those wanting to try the camping lifestyle.
With campsites across the country now catering for the glamping experience, it’s a great time to take a family holiday or just go away for a romantic couples break.
Here we take a look at the best ways of getting the glamping look and enjoying the experience.
How To Get The Glamping Look - Glamping Sites
There are a huge range of glamping sites now available across the country and which one you choose will largely depend on the type of accommodation you desire, what you want to do while there and how many people will be staying.
The Secret Meadows is located in a beautiful wildlife site in Suffolk. With access to luxury Lodge Tents, Gypsy Caravans, Luxury Bell Tents and Hobbit Boxes, visitors have a great range of accommodation to choose from and won’t be disappointed.
All accommodation includes a private toilet, basin, hot shower, as well as traditional kitchen facilities.
For a piece of quiet, you may want to take a look at Belle Glamping in Wales. This family run operation provides beautiful luxurious tents and a vintage 60s caravan for cooking and dining while also allowing you to roam the amazing surrounding countryside.
How To Get The Glamping Look - Glamping Fashion
In order to look camp glamorous you must first become glamorous and nothing screams countryside chic more than some stylish wellington boots. They are the wardrobe essential for countryside adventures. You can find fun and floral wellies almost anywhere and they just add that touch of cool to your look. Alternatively, mix it up with some multi-tone fashion wellies that will compliment any outfit.
Camping doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style and there are a number of ways to look your best whilst out in the wilderness. You can jazz up a causal block colour dress with some bright and bold accessories such as a gold watch or ring and candy coloured sunglasses. Or, get back to nature with a chic bo-ho look that involves trilby hats, leather satchels or tassel bags and gladiator sandals.
The nights might get chilly so why not wrap up warm with a big knit cardigan or jumper. Bold print leggings with some chunky socks will keep legs and toes toasty by campsite fires. Layers are the perfect way to keep warm but some stylish accessories such as beaded bracelets and chain necklaces will keep you looking cool.
How To Get The Glamping Look - Glamping Essentials
Don’t forget the glamping accessories to really give you the glamping look when you head off into the countryside. No glamp girl is complete without her Esbit coffee maker. Your coffee maker will provide you with absolute luxury on those early mornings amongst the trees and wildlife.
Moon loungers, will not only keep you looking fantastic while sat out in the sun, but will also provide you with all the comfort that traditional camping is usually missing.
If you’re really going all out glamping, then you’ll need to look into decent lighting for when the sun sets and a lovely, relaxing atmosphere is required. Hurricane and storm camping lanterns may just be the perfect product for this, though we still like the Sun Jar Solar Lights as well.
Finally, a kitsch picnic kit will top everything off and is a great way of presenting all that lovely food you need after a long morning walk.
