We all love going away on holiday right? While there’s nothing wrong with taking a staycation or jetting off on a last-minute city break to the continent, I think that if you want a really enjoyable getaway you should set your sights a little higher. This is why I suggest that you take inspiration from celebrities on where to go. It’ll certainly make for a holiday you never forget!
Obviously, the eye-watering bank balances that world-famous actors, sportsmen and musicians have mean that you shouldn’t be looking to go on a cheap and cheerful trip to a two-star hotel on the Costa del Sol. Instead, it’ll be more like five-star resorts on exotic islands. Here are just a few of the destinations I think are best suited for those seeking a luxurious break.
With Caprice Bourret and Piers Morgan just two of the stars to have stayed in Antigua, it is certainly one place I suggest you consider visiting. As well having the opportunity to rub shoulders with the stars, coming to the Caribbean island enables you to enjoy the blissful weather that this part of the world is renowned for.
Indeed, temperatures here remain at an average of 27 to 31 degrees C for most of the year and although there is accommodation to suit all budgets, discerning holidaymakers should seek out what the isle’s luxury resorts have to offer. In finding out deals on suites from Blue Waters and other respected accommodation providers, you can make use of high-end facilities like your own private swimming pool and an over-sized bathroom featuring a freestanding bathtub.
Antigua, of course, isn’t the only popular luxury holiday destination in the Caribbean, with the stunning island of St Lucia also renowned for its wealth of high-quality accommodation and glittering beaches.
There are almost too many fantastic hotels and resorts to name here, but I think Cap Maison is an especially inviting place to stay. This stunning complex contains a number of guestrooms and suites and features intricate Spanish-colonial architecture. You’ll be spoilt for choice with the range of high-end facilities, though having the opportunity to have a chef personally cook a meal for you might prove to be especially enticing. Other amenities include yoga classes and a meditation garden, while you can even tuck into your own private meal while sat on the beach. In doing so, you can take in the sight of the beautiful Caribbean Sea as you eat.
You can expect to be in extremely good company when taking a luxury holiday on the island, as Gwyneth Paltrow, Morgan Freeman, Prince Charles and Harrison Ford are just a few of the celebrities to have stayed here over the years.
Lastly, you might want to consider taking a celebrity-inspired break to Los Angeles. This is where many of the world’s most famous stars live and work – after all, it is the home of Hollywood – so you should always be on the lookout for TV and film personalities.
To give your holiday a real air of elegance, however, you should stay in one of the hotels that are commonly frequented by celebrities. Book a room at the Chateau Marmont hotel on Sunset Boulevard, and you’ll be in a property whose previous guests include Led Zeppelin and Lindsay Lohan.
These are just a couple of the best destinations for a celebrity-inspired break, but if you can think of any more please leave a comment and let us know where you would like to go!
