The 2007 Culture Shapers Tee, designed by high school student Hung Pham

Congratulations to Hung Pham of Clear Creek High School!

Hung Pham, a Senior at Clear Creek High School, and 20 other students participated in the first-ever Culture Shapers T-Shirt Design Contest, which took place over the summer. The Culture Shapers staff and volunteers voted and Hung received the most votes, although it was a close contest between several of the designs.

In addition to winning 1st place in the contest, Hung Pham will also receive $500 cash, plus his design will be printed on 1,500+ t-shirts and distributed to every entrant in the 2007 Culture Shapers Visual Arts Contest!

Hung says he plans to save the $500 cash for college. We think you’ve got a bright future in design, Hung.

Congratulations to Hung Pham for designing the Official 2007 Culture Shapers T-Shirt! Read more

Season Three of Young Voices of Houston will feature four semifinal events; one each in January, February, March and April of ‘08. The top three finalists from each of the four semifinals will be invited to return and compete in the May Final, where the cash prizes will total more than $5,000!

What’s more, we are in the process of constructing a brand new Cultural Arts Center, which will be home to Culture Shapers, the Houston Family Arts Center and LRC. The Young Voices of Houston monthly vocal competitions will be held in the new center, and we are very excited for the possibilities that this new venue will bring.

So get ready, singers! And stay tuned right here for the dates (when finalized) and the online entry form!
