What role does spirituality play in your artwork?

January 29, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Akiane - Child prodigy

Akiane is an internationally recognized 12-year-old prodigy, considered the only known child binary genius, in both realist painting and poetry. She has been selected as 1 of just 20 most accomplished visual artists in the world by Tribute Entertainment (London) and ABI (United States), and she has appeared on countless TV and radio shows.

She claims that she paints from “visions” in which she sees and communicates with God. Whether you agree or disagree, you have to at least concede that she is an extremely talented young artist, in more than one discipline.

So here’s a question for you… “What role does spirituality play in your own artwork?” Is there a connection between the two? Post your comments here, and remember, keep it positive!

YVOH changed Schedule-Format!

January 24, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Due to several circumstances: not wanting to have conflicts with proms and the ending of school activities, we’re moving the YVOH Finals back to April 9th.
That means there will be only two more semi finals: February 21st and March 5th. We will increase the number of contestants to 16 for each event. First 16 to sign up get in and we’ll take “back-ups” in case of last minute fall-outs.
This also means that we will have completed SEVEN semi final rounds and ALL who placed 1st or 2nd place are invited to the FINALS (a potential of 14 finalists though a person who finished 2nd and then 1st means we will probably end up with around 12).
