We are now just fifteen days away from when we get to see you perform.. You can change your song at any time before the 15th; however, you should let us know if you’re doing a new song so we can post it. Song selection is sometimes the difference in winning or not! Also, be sure and look at the five categories that you’ll be judged. Some songs are easier to demonstrate with stage presence than others.

We’re just 58 days away from deadline for all entries being due, except Sculpture which must be entered on October 20th! Be sure and read the rules! Last year ceramic sculpture entries dropped off. Bring anything, wood sculpture, clay, or whatever you visualize in your mind.

Klein ISD seems to always send the most people. GO KLEIN (10 entries)! The contest is open to anyone in Region IV. For September 15th we have 5 from Klein Collins, 3 from Klein Forest, 1 from Klein Oak, Klein, Lamar, College park, Cy-Woods, and Cy-Fair. The grade level mix has 2 Freshmen, 4 Sophmore, 3 Juniors, and 5 Seniors!

Everyone is invited to come out for a free night of entertainment, and fun. Any age 13 or older can VOTE for your favorite performer. Crowd vote counts for 50% of the score with the other 50% coming from professional judges. All songs are Pop or Broadway and are by track. Quick three minute rehersals from 6-7 and the SHOW BEGINS at 7:00pm! Bring your crowd!

JESSICA PEREZ is a Sophomore at Klein Collins. She has been singing for a very long time! She’s very active in choir and does many shows outside of school and plans to audition for our musical “Beauty and the Beast.” She really loves to play the piano, having played for almost 12 years now. She will be singing “Home” from Beauty and the Beast.

We now have the fourteen contestants. If interested you could send us your entry as a back up in case someone has to cancel. Or you can sign up now for the November 3rd event (there isn’t one in October).

HANNAH MILLER is a sophmore at Klein Collins Hannah Miller is a sophomore at Klein Collins High School. She is very active in her choir and is beginning to become active in theater. She recently performed in Bye Bye Birdie with ACE theater. As a freshman she placed 6th at Pre-Are auditions and was 1st at NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) in musical theater. She would like to thank her mom and voice teacher Bob Collet for helping her. She will be singing Climbing Uphill. We will take only ONE MORE CONTESTANT for this round.

LOUIS ADAMS-DIAZ is a senior at College Park High School in Conroe. When he was 8 he signed up for a choir called the Houston Childrens Chorus. In that choir is where my vocal abilities shined. He has traveled all around in the world singing for different people including Bill Clinton and the current president and his father. He will be singing Birds Flying High by Micheal Buble.

CHARLOTTE BYRD is in the Sophomore at Klein Collins High School where she is active in choir, orchestra and drama. She was voted Outstanding Musician in the Freshman A Cappella Choir last spring and Outstanding Soloist in both their UIL competition & D/C Festival competition in South Padre Island. Charlotte enjoys musical theater and recently performed in ACE Theatre’s production of Bye Bye Birdie. Currently, she is serving as costume crew head for Klein Collins upcoming production of The Foreigner.

JACKSON PERRIN is a freshman at Klein Collins. He has been singing most of his life, two years with the Houston Boys Choir, and over 30 Musicals at venues such as the Houston Grand Opera, TUTS, Main Street Theater, Cy-Fair College, Klein Collins H.S., HFAC, and Playhouse 1960. He is happy to be making his Culture Shapers debut with so many of his friends.
