One freshman, three sophomores, five juniors and two seniors did a fantastic job of entertaining the record crowd during the final round of competition, held at LRC in northwest Houston. Ten gals and one lone male voice… and it was the male voice of Carl Culley, a sophomore at Klein Oak, who won first place and $1,500! Alison Luff (our 2005 Finals winner), and a Junior at Klein Collins, took second place and $1,000! And the South African transplant, Jessica van Dongen, a junior at Klein Collins, won $500 for third place. It’s a HAT TRICK for Klein ISD as they swept the finals. And all three are eligible to come back for the next year’s competition.

The next semifinal is May 19th. Next year’s FINALS will be in early May, meaning we will have at least eight opportunities for all old and new contestants to give it a go. In fact, starting with the April semis, we will have a combination of audience and professional judges determine the monthly winners. Congrats to ALL ELEVEN! You made us proud!
